I've never blogged before...but have been lurking & commenting on others since I found Sparks. I get SOO much motivation from all you Sparkers out there & I want to be able to be one of the many success stories, so finally decided it's time to just jump in and start. (Maybe this will be just the thing to keep me in check to get to where I want to be & finally accomplish my goals & hopefully inspire someone else)
My Mantra for 2012 is "50 by 50" --to lose 50 lbs by the time I turn 50 ( May 28th) That gives me about 20 weeks @ 2.5 lbs per week. I think that is a very doable goal.
-my co-worker drew this picture for me w/cartoon Lady Gaga's for my motivation...so I stare at it all day at work...then made copies to post around the house, ie-fridge, pantry, etc...LOL)
We started a Biggest Loser contest at work again--we do a 8 week competition & the winner gets like $500...the last one we did in the fall I ended up finishing 14.2 lbs down & in 6th place out of 23 (the BEST I've ever done)-start weight--263.8/ ending weight-249.6. I have gained some back--so this one, I am starting at 254.4.
I am planning a trip with my girlfriend to go somewhere warm---(was suppose to be Aruba...but now not sure where) so I want to be able to wear a swimsuit & not feel TOTALLY uncomfortable. WHEN (not if) I meet this goal..I will be about half way to meeting my long term goal by August.
Today--I also decided it is time to quit smoking. I have read so many inspiring blobs of others who have succeeded "cold turkey" & you have inspired me!! Thank you! So today is Day 1....of many more to come.
I have been consistent with exercise since the beginning of the year also.....even though I LOATH getting out of bed so early (4:30)..I have. I'm starting this week with DVD's I bought a while ago--X-FACTOR: ST---"the body you want in 8 weeks". Week 1 starts tonight. Has anyone else done these workouts...give me some feedback if you have...i'd really appreciate it.
I know it seems like I have started too many things at one time....but I have tried separately in the past & never succeeded long term with any of them. I figure if I want to be healthy, it has to be OVERALL health..not just the losing weight OR quit smoking OR exercise but a total combination for long term success.......& since I put all of this in writing for everyone to see & not just me---you will help me stay on track and keep pushing forward.
(Whew---for never blogging before, I sure did ramble....LOL)
