Food Review: Kashi Three Cheese Penne

I usually don't purchase Kashi products because they're so expensive, but this particular item was on sale at my local grocery store.

You should know, off-the-bat, that I love cheese. In fact, when I started SparkPeople, it wasn't the carbohydrates that I had to reign in as much as the fat, because I love cheese and other high-fat foods THAT much.

So the marketing alone ("three-cheese") had me sold.

Perhaps it was the combination of cheeses (asiago, feta and cheddar) or the consistency of the "cheese sauce," but something was Instead of an all-natural (a relatively expensive) dish, I felt like I was eating something cheap and highly-processed, like 50 cents-a-box macaroni and cheese.

The only redeeming part of the dish was the Kashi 7 Whole Grain Penne, which was a nice consistency and had the most flavor.

Overall, I give this dish emoticon emoticon (out of emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon).

Let's just say that I expected more from Kashi.
