So, we have a talking scale...it's a "she" , and only has a few phrases.. "Hello", "It's ready", then gives your weight, then after a pause, "Goodbye". My daughter bought it, for us...as we had trouble reading the old one. I avoided it at first...I didn't want it saying "One person at a time, please" or "Oh my, are you wearing a suit of armour?" or even a "Yikes, 360 lbs!" But she doesn't editorialize. No pithy comments. She does seem given to long pregnant pauses, before announcing the weight....as if shaking her digital head in sympathetic wonder.
But we have come to be almost friends...as I apologise to her, or say my own "Yikes!", or last few times, a hesitant "Are you sure?". Because after being stuck in this 5 lb. window for almost a year, the numbers are slowly getting lower. At least mine are...hubby's went up 4 lbs since Thanksgiving...mine dropped 13 lbs.
I do think a really TALKING scale, who is sensible and sensitive, could be a real plus. Like small smart comments...."Maybe you should think about taking a long walk this evening?" Or a "Cheesecake is not your friend" "Have you exercised this week, month, year, millennium?"
For now I'll just be satisfied that she is chiming out lower numbers finally!
