I have in the last year cut way back on soda. In fact I have not had any at all in 10 days. I drink 8-12 cups of water a day. I wash my face everyday. I don't wear make-up except on very rare occasions - and when I do I wash my face as soon as I can. I wipe my phone everyday with a Clorox wipe and I try very hard to not touch my face. and yet I still have a hard time with acne and I am 35 years old.
I did a detox diet once but only lasted 3 weeks. I think it was because too many changes all at once. The things I listed above I have been doing for a while. So I have decided that I am going to try to cut out dairy for a while.
There are a lot of healthy alternatives such as Silk that I can use instead. I have been researching articles and blogs and the message boards on Sparkpeople. I have typed in Acne and Dairy on Google and read a bunch of things from that. I agree that it could MAYBE be wheat, but I am only going to try one thing at a time. If you do too much at once, how do you know what works or not??? I think this will also help benefit my weight loss. I highly agree in the idea of dairy containing hormones that are not good for humans.
Also, to be honest... I just can't afford to go all out organic, healthy, no dairy, no wheat, no..... blah blah blah. As much as I think it would be healthier, I just simply can't afford it. Maybe if I go into it slowly and get use to it I can adapt and make it routine, but for now... one step at a time.
