Put this off long enough...

Hello friends!

Well, gotta come clean...I have NOT stayed away from the goodies! The only good thing I can say about those cookies is that they are almost gone! I had one BAD cookie day, but otherwise I limited them to a serving(ish)! Once they are gone, they are gone, no more desserts for a while, unless it's some fruit! I suspect my husband will finish off the last few tonight.

I have done well with my exercise. I have been borrowing DVD's from the library to mix things up a bit. I liked Jillian Michael's DVD's so much that I bought 2 of hers and 2 other workouts with some Christmas money. My DVD's came on Saturday and I have enjoyed trying out the new workouts. I'm sore in some different spots! My husband and I ran together for the first time on Saturday...he had to slow his pace down, and I had to stop a couple tiimes because I kept getting charlie horses in my calves, which has never happend before...I guess I was pushing a bit harder...he's quite a bit taller 6 foot to my 5' 2 1/2" so his stride is longer...he didn't complain a bit and said he enjoyed running together. I guess we will have to try that again. The weather has been so mild here I've been walking the dog more too.

We will be eating out tonight, tomorrow, Friday and Saturday we host a pot-luck at our house...so I'm only cooking two dinners this week...I don't know how I'll manage to stay within calories this week...but I'll just order healthier options and eat smaller portions as best I can.

So, a little frustrated with myself and the darn cookies...but overall feeling pretty happy with being healthy enough to exercise, and exercise HARD! I have had times in my life where getting out of bed was the best I could hope for, so being able to workout and feel strong is such a blessing to me!

Wishing everyone a great week! So many of you are doing great with your challenges!! Woo-hoo!!! Very motivating!!! I'm also feeling motivated to try some new healthy recipes with all the healthy cooking I'm reading about! Thanks for being my motivators!

I completely understand, only too well. I think my biggest problem this past Christmas season wasn't the fact that there was goodies, just way too many of them. At times I was only eating them to get rid of them!
WE can do this Sheri, one step at a time.
Congratulations on all your exercising, that is definitely the key especially when we have let our guards down.

Hi Sheri! You are doing great. Just like you said, healthier options and eating smaller portions. I know I had a double hamburger with cheese and a small hot fudge cake, and was so surprised I had lost weight. But the exercise has definitely helped with it. So you see, it does balance it out. This is meant for us to eat almost anything we want to, but in smaller portions and combining moving our bodies. And you are doing it girl! Way to go!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

So glad you have been blessed with a healthier body and can exercise more! You're doing wonderful with your fitness. I love that your husband wants to run with you some more! Sweet! It's nice to try out new DVDs! I'm really liking the toning videos I have to do for the January Jumpstart Workout Challenge. They have opened my eyes to what I need to do!

Enjoy your eating out and potluck! The cooking will always be there so enjoy eating out when you can! I know you'll make some healthy choices!

:) somebody had wrote a blog about cookies talking to them, I thought that was so funny. You know it's not the end of the world eating cookies...track it and move it....shoot, cookies are yummy, who wouldn't want to eat them....if it makes you feel better, I ate a slice of my birthday cake AND a piece of the pound cake my daughter made this past weekend....and guess what, they were yummy AND I tracked them. I could have EASILY past them up and if I REALLY wanted to deprive myself I either wouldn't have allowed them in the house OR I would have just thrown them in the trash...under some old food from the fridge so I couldn't change my mind, but nope. They were treats, homemade with whole wheat flour, real butter, palm sugar, raw milk...excellent ingredients...just eaten in moderation...tracked and moved on :) ok, enough of that....so glad you were able to get out with your husband for a run...I'm enjoying that too with mine on Saturdays...anyway, I think you're doing superb...you know you're the toughest on yourself :)
