A few weeks ago I received a phone call from a reporter for a British newspaper who wanted to interview me about something I had posted on the internet almost 22 years ago!
Do you remember "Friendship Bread?" It was making the rounds in my home town and I decided to share it with my Girl Scout Troop, while also teaching them about the internet - something new back then. I typed up the recipe, along with one for the "starter" and my son posted it on usenet for me. I asked people to e-mail me if they made the bread, then I shared the e-mails with the troop. I could not believe it when this reporter tracked me down and told me that the info was still out there on the internet, with my name, and that it was "very big in Britain." I was quite shocked to hear all of this.
Well, if I am going to be remembered for something, I'm glad that it is "friendship."
