A is for ABOVE and BEYOND...Does competition push you?
~ I am motivated to work toward achieving goals, both alone and with a team, but I don’t find any motivation in competing against others. In fact, I prefer seeing others “win” when it means a lot to them, rather than winning myself. At the same time, when there is a competition, I like to make a decent showing.
B is for BLC rounds... Newbie?(first BLC round) Oldie?(1-3 rounds) Goldie?(long time BLCer)? Former BLC team(s)?
~ Oldie, this is my 2nd round in BLC and here in the Forest.
C is for CHILDREN...you have?
~ 1 son, 1 step-son, 3 step-daughters, all of whom are grown with families and homes of their own.
D is for DOWNFALL...what's you're biggest temptation?
~ Snack foods around the house, which is why I keep them out of the house as much as possible.
E is for EXCUSE...what is your most famous? How can we help you overcome it?
~ Being too busy and too tired from being too busy. I am not sure how the Forest can help with this one.
F is for FURRY FRIENDS...you have?
~ My son’s dog, Charlotte. But none at home right now. (I had house rabbits in the past for years.) I travel too much and hubby prefers a pet-free home.
G is for GROCERIES...what do you fill your cart with?
~ Freggies, lean meats, low-fat dairy, good-for-me foods take up most of the cart space. Sometimes one of those “bad” snack foods jumps in, but I try to keep them to a minimum.
H is for HOME...what state do you call home?
I is for INSPIRE...who or what is your roll model/inspiration?
~ The Dalai Lama
J is for JOB...What do you do for a living?
~ Work for Uncle Sam.
K is for KEEP IT SIMPLE...What's your focus when short on time?
~ Getting whatever I *have to* get done, done. The rest can “slide.”
L is for LOG...Do you use the Nutrition and Fitness trackers?
~ Yes, both, and pretty regularly, though sometimes I take a break from doing it.
M is for MOTIVATION...Which gives you more, Mirror or Scale?
~ Scale in the short run, mirror in the long run.
N is for NAME...What's the meaning behind your sparkname?
~ It’s my real first name followed by some numbers, nothing special or meaningful like others have.
O is for OUNCES...How many ounces of water do you consume on a daily basis?
~ 8 or more cups a day. I am naturally a water drinker.
P is for PRODUCE...How many fruits and veggies do you consume daily?
~ 6 to 10
Q is for QUOTE...what's your favorite?
~ Moderation in all things, including moderation. (At least this is the quote that came to mind right now.)
R is for ROUTINE...Average number of days and minutes you exercise weekly?
~ It varies, but I would say 6 days a week and 250 minutes plus a week.
S is for STATUS...Married, Single, Involved, Other?
~ Married 30 years.
T is for TIME...What time zone are you in?
~ US Eastern
U is for UNWIND...What is your favorite pass time or hobby?
~ Walking outdoors, especially in nature and in nice weather.
V is for VACATION...If you could travel anywhere, what destination would you choose?
~ I would enjoy visiting the islands of the South Pacific, including Hawaii, Tahiti, and other such places.
W is for WEIGHT WORKOUT...Do you follow a consistent ST program?
~ So far, not a particular program, but I got to doing ST pretty regularly during BLC 17, and I plan to get back to it. (The holidays with family visiting and then being home sick for a week have put cramp in my working out.)
X is for "X" MARKS THE SPOT...What do you want to see happen these 12 weeks, other than the scale move?
~ Get my nasal passages open and back to normal so I can breathe freely again, which also means getting to exercise more vigorously again. Right now I am just back to walking, stretching, and exercises that don’t increase pressure on my sinuses.
Y is for YESTERDAY...Do you allow choices to push you forward or dwell on them?
~ I do think over my choices, but once I make them, they propel me in the direction I have chosen to go.
Z is for ZERO...name one thing you couldn't live without?
~ Air. Seriously! I really hate it when I can’t breathe freely. Grrrrrr! … One thing I would prefer to not have to live without is my laptop and Internet connection. (There is no way into the Forest for me without it!)
