A Year Later...

Well one year has passed since I started SP and I have to say I have learned 3 things in the past 12 months... (1) I can lose weight, (2) losing the weight is not as easy as I thought it would be - especially the last 15 pounds, and (3) even though I didn't ,make my initial goal I know I am better for getting where I am and that getting to my goal is just one step closer each day.
I can say this site showed me that if I stay true to me, count the calories honestly, do the exercise, and make good food choices, not only can I lose the weight, but I can maintain it and still splurge every now and again. In the past I tried conforming to what the "diet" places wanted (points, special meals, only eating or not eating certain foods) and the only thing I learned from these plans was how to put it all back and then some once I reached my goal. SP has taught me how to look at food and to be honest with myself. I have foods I really like to eat (pizza, steak, pasta) and I can eat them, but in smaller amounts and less often if I want to stay in a healthy weight range.
The journey is still going and who knows when it will end, but for those who may be new to the site and see this know that you cannot get to the end until you begin. Coming to this site is merely the choice, now you being the journey by coming back day after day, no matter if the day was good eating/exercise wise or not.
Keep in mind, it took more than one day to gain the weight and it will take more than one day to lose it!!! Stay focused and take each day as just that... another day. Good luck to those who read this.
