Hunting season and the holidays take a toll on me! WHo am I kidding, life is always busy and some how I use that excuse to disengage from the SPARK web site. Pretty funny that every time I come back, SPARK is still here.
Last year at this time I was at the weight I wanted to be. I signed up for a marathon hoping it would make me skinny again. Before the marathon, my son graduated from high school and we had so many family events that I was 2 pounds heavier but I got that marathon done.
Hunting season is great because I am out all day but once the dreaded snow with lingering road ice and cold hit, my workouts started to slide. The holidays are tough, cookies, chocolate, wine. I tried to stay focused because I really wanted to go to Disney world at my goal weight. It didn't happen. I was 6 pounds over.
The good news.... I went to disney 24 pounds lighter than 4 years ago and 14 pounds lighter
than two years ago. I only have 6 pounds to lose this year and I will be great in the weight department.
The bad news.. I have been stuck in the same training routine and my body does not respond to losing weight. I have to really mix up my training and commit to strength training. I MUST DO THIS!
I have pick out my marathon, August 19th is the target date. I signed up for some water resistance classes, and I have all the strength tapes on the DVD ready to go. This past week has been great so I am committed to blog on SPARK and keep track of my progress.
For those of you who are reading this blog, you dreams can become your reality. I have done this a million times and always succeed when I keep focused. Take small steps, set manageable goals, and record your progress. You may falter from time to time ( like I do) you do get better and regrouping each time.
