Happy Birthday to my Little Buddy!

Today is my son's 7th birthday!

Boy, does time fly!

This is really brutal. My daughter's birthday is in December, then Christmas, then New Years, and then my son's birthday is a week later. So much temptation in such a short period of time! It's like a trial by fire.

The party is today. Another birthday cake to cut. More cheeses and crackers and chips to resist.

*takes a deep breath*
I can do this.

*takes another deep breath*
The scale and tape will be waiting for me at home. Tomorrow is weigh in day. The cake will only taste good for about two minutes. Seeing that scale move down will feel good for an entire day or more.

Knowing I'll report the results here is also another big motivator to do the right thing. Keep me in check, you guys!

Haha. Ever since I worked in a bakery as a cake decorator for 5 years, I can't stand the taste of frosting. So as long as cake has frosting on it, I don't even have the desire to eat it. The problem is cake without frosting!

Does your son like angel food cake? That has very few calories and can be served with fresh fruit.

Also... just out of curiousity... Who brought the cheese and crackers tray? That's just like temptation city right there.

Happy Birthday to your little guy!

OOooooooh. How I totally *LOVE* the part where you put ... "the cake will only taste good for about two minutes. seeing that scale move down will feel good for an entire day or more". !! That is just SO awesome to think like that. And , I *should* have thought that way on my birthday in December. :( Ugh.

Anyway! ;)

Happy Birthday to your son!
