Back with a vengeance

Yep, I know... you haven't seen or heard from me in 2 whole months. I've been busy, taking a break, blah, blah, blah. The good news is that I didn't gain any of my weight back over the holidays.

(fending off glares of jealousy)

Even during my "break" I was watching what I ate. I didn't measure, but I did refrain from over indulging. It was a nice change not to have to ask for larger clothing for Christmas.

Speaking of Christmas... Hubby got me my dream gun! A 9mm baby Desert Eagle. It's pretty. We also (finally) got a house, and we're going to closing in 4 days! Squee!!!!

So, I got a kick in the tuckus Sunday at Relief Society when our presidency introduced this year's Pursuit of Excellence program. I'm actually excited about this one. 3 of the goals I selected for myself (with some slight modification) are pertinent here...

1. Lose 2012 ounces this year (125 pounds, 2.5 pounds/week)

2. Walk for 2012 minutes 2x this year (30 minutes 3x each week)

3. Drink 2012 glasses of water this year (6/day, but I'm drinking 8 just to be safe)

My hope is not to make this program a "New Years Resolution" but to make it a goal that I am consistently working towards. I've got my first week down so far and have met goals 2 and 3. I'm waiting until Sunday morning for the weigh in to see if I've met that one.

    I set out some new goals this year too. One of my unposted goals is to not see my goals as something that if I miss one day I just give up on.

2. Congratulations on not gaining during your break! I think that means you've truly changed your lifestyle.
3. I like all of your 2012 goals. I especially like that they are things where one or two days of mistakes won't mean you've blown a resolution.
