Danny has been in the hospital 2 times during the holidays. He went in on Friday before Christmas with a hemaglobin of 3.8 and received 6 units of packed cells blood. His hemaglobin then got up to 8.9 by Christmas night. We did get to come home Christmas night. On Friday he made an appointment for a colonoscopy and a EGD. They found a tumor in the sigmoid part of his colon. They did surgery that day. The Dr. said it was a low grade tumor and we would wait for the pathology report. The pathology report showed only 1 out of 12 lymph nodes was malignant. That did not seem too bad we thought. Anyway we were in the hospital for News Year and then come home on Tuesday afterwards. Shortly after we got home his medical Dr. called and said we had an appointment with an oncologist/hemotologist. They seem to think that Danny has Multiple Myloma. This is a whole new ballgame now. This would require treatment of either chemo-therapy or stemcells and chemo-therapy. Boneloss and fractures of the bones is one of the signs but he has not had that. Just the low blood count. So I'm asking you all to pray for him.
Love,
Vickie
