Bun in the oven

Holy macaroni! (100% whole wheat, of course...)

I'm having a baby! Yesterday was my 15 week appt and I couldn't keep that ear to ear grin off my face watching the little bean on ultrasound waving arms around and being totally uncooperative in the finding out if it's a tomcat or a alley kitten. Either way I'm hoping for healthy, 10 fingers and toes and no complications.

Which brings me to my next topic which is stinky diabetes. I had gestational diabetes with my first little kitten and I'm on my way with this second.

The good news..."forced" healthy eating. Yup. In order to have the healthiest baby possible I am cutting bad sugar, carbs and calories....or have already actually. You know you are doing it right when an orange, apple or grapes taste like pure sweetness to you. :)

The bad news...I'm going to end up on insulin again. That means another 5-6 months of shots. Waaaah! I know I can do it. I did it before, but that doesn't mean I have to like it or be happy about it.

But, if the end result is a munchkin even half as awesome as my is sososo worth it.

I'm so excited for you guys!!!

What a lucky little bean.

I know you'll be able to take these healthy changes and run with them. This could be EXACTLY the jump start you needed.

Go, Mama, go!

    emoticon on the new addition!

I know the idea of dealing with GD is frustrating, but on the other hand - you have the past experience behind you so you know what to expect and have a better idea or how best to cope - you're not "flying blind", and that's a good thing!

Best wishes to you, your family and the little one-to be!
