What happened ? How did I get like this ?

Thursday, January 05, 2012

Although I know , I have been battling my weight all my life, I have never in my life been this big. The most I ever weighed was 180 and to me that was obese. Now here I am 223.6 lbs , and I have lost 7 lbs.

In 2008 I weighed 150 lbs, then I went to nursing school. that year I gained, 40 lbs , and by the time I graduated I was 190 , now here I am 2012 and 223.6 ,, and struggling to loose the weight, Strugging to stay motivated, , struggling to find the time to exercise.

I work nights ,and am finding it hard to fall asleep during the day, If I come home and exercise it seems as if it makes it harder to fall asleep. but if I wait till I wake up then there seems to not be enought time to get the house work done, fix dinner and then get ready for work. And forget it if I have to leave the house for anything like grocerie shopping or going out to dinner.

Here it is 2012 , and I am so glad I found Sparkpeople,. 2012 is going to be the year I turn my life around start living healthy and loosing weight that is holding me back. And I hope with sparkpeople to back me I can stay motivated and have the will power to accomplish my goals.

I made it through quitting smoking cold turkey , I quit Sept 13th 2011 , havent had so much as a puff since that day. nor the urge to smoke ,, Although I was sick for 2 months with severe head cold like symptoms , my doctor told me was my withdrawal from smoking.

So I know I can do this , too, as long as I stay motivated .

You sound like an extremely strong, determined person.
When I quit smoking, many, many years ago, my hubby continued to smoke as well.
He has since quit because of almost dying from heart disease. He has bronchitis and emphysema now.
My advise is take care of YOU.
I love your page and came here because of your quote. Did you write it?

I agree, start small, make baby steps and take it one day at the time. Losing weight takes time so be patient and consistent and you will be fine. Working nights is extremely difficult, I know all too well how it can make one's life miserable. But I also know you can do it if you are patient and dedicated.
