This is my inspirational mantra/picture for 2012. A fellow SPARKer posted that picture a couple months ago - and I swear it was like "whamo" that is so true. I have that picture on my Facebook page, and even uploaded it to create a travel mug and photo tile I have on my kitchen counter as a daily reminder.
A friend and I have committed to recreate that pose/picture and take our own at the end of June this year. We are both turning 40 that month and have been working hard for a year to get in the best shape of our lives before turning 40. And it's working! I have muscles in my arms, I can do ab exercises that I never thought I was strong enough to be able to do...my personal trainer knows just how hard to push me and I love it!
We have a full plate scheduled for 2012....
A total of 15 events are lined up...
Four 5K runs
a 5 mile run
a Tough Mudder obstacle course event
a 50 (or 62) mile cycling event - -my crazy husband will do 100 miles
7 triathlons
and finally a half marathon
My personal and fitness goals for 2012:
--new PR for triathlon
--take master swim classes
--complete 5K under 30 minutes
--lose 13 last pounds before July 1st
--enjoy a fabulous family vacation to celebrate parents 50th anniversary in Aruba - with a new teeny bikini!
--have my sister run a 5K with me again this year... nothing will make me happier
--help my son make even more progress to get him ready for a mainstream classroom
--focus on expanding my son's diet and get him to eat foods that are better for him
--learn to let the little things go with my daughter and spend less time in snippy arguments with my little tween girl
--continue to make myself a priority and focus on my fitness and health...I realized this year that allowing myself time to focus on ME has helped so much to keep me HAPPY and de-stressed!
