2012

Wednesday, January 04, 2012

My…theme I guess you could say…for 2012 is BALANCE. I want to live a more balanced life spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and physically with God at the center of everything because He is the one that holds everything together. Without Him my life tends to fall apart.

SPIRITUALLY…I need to make time to nourish my spirit whether through prayer, meditation, stillness, reading the Bible, singing songs, etc.

EMOTIONALLY…I need to stop being afraid to let my emotions show. I’m a stoic person. Sometime I come off as cold or unfeeling but deep inside I feel a lot. There is nothing wrong with letting that show every now and then.

MENTALLY…I need to engage my mind more through reading, word puzzles, studying the Bible (which will also help nourish the spirit), etc.

PHYSICALLY…I need to take better care of my body by eating healthier and moving it more.

This means getting my apartment in order and keeping it in order.

This means sticking to my budget and watching my spending.

This means getting out of my apartment more and being social.

This means spending time reading/studying the Bible, praying, etc.

This means watching what I eat and exercising.

This means taking time for all my hobbies (writing, crocheting, reading, and video game playing)

This means not obsessing about my weight.

This means not focusing completely on one thing and everything falls to the waste side.

It’s all about balance.

I hope you find that balance. For me this year I'm working hard to journal. Not just my Spark Blog but if I write I know I'm doing well.

I was having a hard time a few years ago and I started a journal called five things. Each day i had to write down five things that were good about the day. Some days i struggled and my entries would be things like.
ate three meals
said my prayers
didn't have a cold
traffic was good coming home.
The sun came out.

It made me mindful of God's simple blessings each day and it helped.

Blessings on your journey.
