In 2011, I:
-Ran 2 half marathons
-Ran a 12K for the first time (in the rain!)
-Set a 5K PR
-Set a 10K PR
-Went hiking (up one of the highest mountains on the Island- 6 hrs to top and back- amazing!)
-Paid off my car
-Started process of refinancing my house
-Visited my sister
-Got a photo-shoot done, boudoir and fitness- so awesome!
-Made-over my room
-Coordinated and celebrated Mom’s 60th birthday
-Did not gain significant weight (the same 3-5 lbs up & down)
Overall I’d rate myself a fair or satisfactory…. Only because I know I can do so much better. I only checked off 10 items of a list of like 21. So I feel like complacency settled in a little. Looking back, 2011 was not as productive for me as 2010 was. But I am more confident entering 2012; I feel I am being SMARTer about my goals now and have a slightly different focus.
Here are my goals for 2012:
-Workout at least 4-6 times a week (minimum 30 min). Running and strength training.
-Try new workouts (kettlebells, bodyrock, Jamie Eason, Beachbody, etc.)
-Aiming for at least 2 half marathons (Feb and March or Feb and June)
-A sub-25 5K race
-Finally leave 130’ville- lose 8 pesky pounds
-Join the Meatless Monday movement.
-Continue mindful, moderate eating; lots of fruits, veggies, water….
-Track food once a week for accountability
-Do something extreme outdoors- hiking, ziplining, mountain biking…. Aiming for spring break and/or summer.
-Finish refinancing home
-Increase savings. Set aside $ from every single pay period!
-Read for pleasure! One book each month.
-Continue active on SP for motivation and to support others
-Start masters OR get certified in personal training – get started before spring!
-Visit my sis in Canada – June/July
-Read the (chronological) bible everyday… 15 minutes… This thanks to Magda Cardoso (SMURFETTE0725) for sending the bibles to anyone who took on the challenge. I’ll also be checking in and sharing thoughts with the FB group “Nerds of His chronological Word 2012”.
-Go to church!!! Celebrate and praise what I am reading by going to HIS house each Sunday.
-12 Good Deeds in 2012. One every month. Not just a random act of kindness (although that counts and should be done everyday!!!) but more hands-on, volunteering, serving others by DOING.
All this to become a better person overall- inside and out- a better mom, spouse, sister, daughter, friend, employee….etc…
So far so good! On Day 4 of this new year I am right on track…..

Happy New Year SparkAmigos!
May it be a positive, peaceful and productive one!
