Yep, starting over. I haven't gained all my weight back, but 2011 was a terrible year for me healthwise. No regular exercise. Eating was hit or miss. Eating at the end of the year was completely out of control.
Control is the key. I have absolutely lost control. I need to regain control and realize that my health has to come first. My cholesterol is up again. I am getting older. I can no longer take for granted my health. I want to be around for my children and grandchildren. 2012 needs to be the year I take charge and get control of my health.
Step one is giving up drinking at least for awhile. Drinking automatically makes me lose control of healthy habits. Bad food sounds good. I don't feel good after I eat it, but I do it any way.
Step two: Get back to the gym. I will start out with just getting on the treadmill and then I will add back the strength training. Two years ago I felt so good. Now I am just blah!
Step three: Cut down on red meat and add more whole grains, fruits and veggies to my diet and continue with that. Do not give in to the call of food with little or no nutritional value.
I have been inspired by so many people at SparkPeople. I can do this.
