Hopelessly Sentimental! :-))

Tuesday, January 03, 2012

Yes, I admit it! I'm one of those sentimental types! I cry when I watch a Hallmark commercial, for Pete's sake! ha! Anyway, when I saw this idea on Pinterest I KNEW it had my name written all over it!

Yesterday, I decided to make this. My changes: I didn't add the Rosettes, but I had my son drill a small hole in the frame, and I attached a string w/dry erase marker so we weren't searching for the marker.

Well, last night I wrote Nate a note on it. It was his first day back to work after having surgery on his clavicle. I wrote: [I love you because--that part is permanently printed] you're such a hard worker and you NEVER complain. xxxoooo Mom P.S. Leftover tacos in the fridge.

When I woke up this morning, my SWEET son had erased my note and WRITTEN me a note back! You can't imagine how this blessed me!

It TRULY took my breath away! My 20 year old son expressing his love to me in such a simple way! He had worked, and I'm sure he was tired, but he took the time to write me this note! I can't wait to HUG him when he wakes up!!!!

Sometimes it is the little words that we don't get to hear very often that push us into the 'mushy' place!! What a great son you have!

Twicw a week...we can start on Friday afternoon! I get to meet with my IRL Spark buddy and pal and she is reading the book as well. We will be studying together and we both hope to lose at least 50 pounds this year :0) and our first get together is this week!

I agree with GourmetLoser - you have such a wonderful family! And apparently I am hopelessly sentimental as well, since just reading your blog made me cry. emoticon

That is so precious! Thank you for sharing this.
I loved the way you started out your blog too. I've noticed that as i get older, I am more easily touched and therefore more emotional.
You raised a good son. =)

I love the board. We have a notebook that we pass around the family, writing notes in it and sticking it under a pillow to be found later. She had to have those sugar cookies at the end. They are my downfall. I love those things, so my family does not allow me to buy them.

What a lovely idea and how wonderful it is being so well received. I think it is well worth copying. I honestly believe we don't say thanks enough to our families.
