So I'm thinking about yesterday. I'm reflecting on how I did. I am following my bestlife food plan again. I really love the focus on vegetables and fruits. The Lentil Barley stew I ate for lunch had small chunks of sweet potatoes in it (Vitamin A). It snowed heavily most of the day and I knew I had to drive into town last evening to teach a yoga class.

I prepared dinner early in the afternoon, slicing up 3 zucchini, lemon zest, minced garlic and artichoke hearts to be served over a small portion of angel hair pasta for when I arrived home after class. I did snack on the zucchini while cooking...

I left early because I wanted to try taking a spinning class that I had never attended before. I wanted to get some cardio in, so I called ahead and reserved my spot, braved the roads. I thought that by going in for the spin class, I would rest assured that I would be there to teach my yoga class afterward. It was 45 minutes of spinning on a bike that I was not accustomed to and it felt good to work up a sweat after taking Sunday as a rest day.

Changed into dry clothes and taught a yoga class, worked on shoulders, Virabhadrasana I (Warrior) and Virabhadrasana III. And I told them about the painting that my son and daughter-in-law gifted me for my birthday of an elephant in Virabhadrasana (Warrior III). The artist, Indira Govindan noted in the abstract that "...like all modern mothers, ...super busy juggling multiple roles on a daily basis. And, setting aside some personal time for yoga and meditation practice is a big challenge. Luckily for her, her young ones like to hang out with her..." There is a baby elephant being held in the crook of her trunk as she leans forward, a balanced "warrior."

Included ardha chandrasana (half-moon) in last night's class as well to strengthen the lower legs and open the hips and chest, alignment of spine. (And I note from this wee calendar here by my computer, that the moon was in the first quarter phase on Sunday, the 1st.

I only drank half of the water I needed to and I did reach for 2 flaxseed morning glory muffins as evening snacks. I don't know exactly what kind of hunger prompted it. I enjoyed their texture and the flavor of the fresh pears in the muffin. It might have been for comfort more than hunger. It would have been better to just allow the small portion of angel hair pasta and zucchini/artichoke dinner settle in before reaching for the muffins. I'll try and have a better day today, I want to stick with my plan for weight loss and optimum wellness.

    The Best Life plan was a good thing for you in the past. So I am sure this is the thing that will help you reach your goal.

You have always enjoyed yoga and I know you are a wonderful teacher. Can't wait to celebrate your 500 hours certificate when you get it!
