2011 and 2012

2011 was a pretty good year overall. My life has improved. My weight has improved. I'm stronger, happier, and healthier. I can do 15 push-ups in a row. I completed my first 5K race (and another) and Ruckus. My goals for the year (according to my SP blog) were as follows:

PLANS FOR 2011

1) I will CONTINUE with therapy. It's the best thing to happen to me. I have decreased the frequency, but I'm definitely NOT ready to be "finished" yet.

I did continue for the first several months of 2011. I reached a point where my therapist and I agreed that I was "well enough" to make it on my own. I don't know if you ever "graduate" from therapy, but if so, that's what I did.

2) I will CONTINUE losing weight. I will get down where I want to be. Time to resume the weekly blog check-ins.

After some false starts, I did get from a high of 180lbs to 167.8 pounds (minus my TOM weeks). Still going strong, though.

So what's next? This is what I came up with for this year:



First and foremost, my bday present to myself: the half marathon the day after my birthday. Secondly, I want to improve on last year's Ruckus. I want to pull myself OVER those walls, dang it!

Next is P90X. I was always afraid that I wasn't "fit enough" to do the workouts, but thanks to FitClub, I have tried it and I like it! And I AM fit enough! I am going to "attempt" to mix it in with my half training, but if it's too much (which I know it may be), I will dumb it down a bit and really "bring it" after the race.

Next is FlyLady. I am an ok housekeeper. I can be "company ready" in about a day. But I want to be ready in 15 minutes! Enter FlyLady. I have tried to employ a few of her strategies already, and the hubby has noticed. Great feedback on little things = encouragement to keep going.

Mental health is next on my list. In addition to exercise, I find that if I miss a creative outlet for too long, I get down. Soooo, I created another blog: rhythmic-romance.blogspo

, and my goal is to write in both of them at least twice a week.

Finally - and most important - is my spiritual health. I want to read through the Bible chronologically to really get a feel for the whole story in the order it happened. I have gotten so much closer to my Savior this year, and I want to continue. I want to know His story as intimately as He knows mine.

So there you have it. Ambitious? Yes. Realistic? Yes. Here we go!

    Wonderful to hear from you...your efforts are reaping such SUPER rewards which you can savor! AND onward to bigger and better accomplishments! Glad to hear that therapy has been so helpful. I know my work in therapy has been so instrumental in making these changes.
