2012 Plan

I am actually excited about the plans I have this year to make improvements both in my health and in other areas that are important to me. I have made a chart with 10 areas that I want to focus on. These are mainly basic regarding health - 30 minutes minimum cardio, 20 minutes minimum strength 3 times a week, 8 cups of water, eating in range. I've also added a few personal goals such as being to work on or before starting time EVERY day. I have a tendency to arrive 1-2 minutes late. While my boss is gracious about it, I don't like it. I've other goals like being in touch with my son more often, even if it's just a text. We can go a week or 2 sometimes - both of us have such busy lives - and I want to improve that.

Every day I wlll assess how I have done and add up each check mark and multiply that by a dime. I have a tendency to just buy books or clothes in particular whenever I see something I want. Not enough to go into debt or anything like that but I feel I could either save the money or use it for more profitable things - charity, etc. I will therefore force myself to save up this way for something special and only buy it if I have accumulated enough on my chart. Obviously if I need new jeans or whatever I will get them but this will help me discipline myself. This weekend we had a family Christmas gathering and played a game called "Ticket to Ride". I loved it and that is my first goal to save for.

I am looking forward to the flexibility this offers me - don't have to be perfect to achieve my overall goals but it does encourage me to stay with it. If I need to make adjustments I will but I think for me, it is a great plan!

    what a great plan! sounds like a great start to a great year.

where i can write down my most important targets for each month then tick them off as i go. i started in november 2011 and am going to keep on in 2012.
like you ruth most of my goals are health related as they are my most important goals at the moment.
