I am entering this new year feeling pessimistic, but determined. It feels like the older I get the less and less my body wants to change for the better. I got the Christmas splurge out of the way and have been relatively stagnant for a couple of months. I renewed my body media monitor subscription and plan on using that to track my calorie expenditure. I have not done any shopping, but I do have some relatively healthy food in the house. I am planning on using the treadmill at lunch and then doing some walking/calisthenics after work with my son. My son is only 6 and is starting to show the signs of having weight issues. My son's pediatrician sort of chewed me out (I wanted to smack her a good one, but I also listened). I know childhood obesity is a major health issue in our country and I really do not want my son to be a victim of it. I have a lot of weight I need to lose, but I am only going to try to focus on 10lbs at a time. For every 10lbs I lose I am planning on some type of small non-food related reward. Anyway, I hope everyone has a successful weightloss journey in 2012.
