Well, I set a goal this year to not gain any weight over the holidays - maybe even lose a little - for the first time in my life. I said I was going to "cut back" on baking so many cookies, but I ended up baking for 8 days straight times umpteen hundred cookies like I always do. I just enjoy giving them to friends and family so much, and enjoy the creativity of making them as well. I ate fewer than I usually do while baking, and also ate less calories at mealtimes to allow for the cookies that won their way to my mouth. There were so many holiday parties, and although I could have done better, I know I did WAY better than I have in the past, so I was pleased just as much.
I got on the scale today and I am down ONE POUND from my pre-Christmas weight!!!! I was so excited and when I went to the gym this morning, I was the Energizer Bunny! I did 53 minutes of cardio which is a new record for me (my goal is 35-40 mins. each time I go).
