Some reminders for myself on snacking:
Throw the Fritos away!
Drink water first. Maybe you're just thirsty.
Have apple slices instead of chips.
Cheese & crackers are good, but limit this to low fat cheese & make a small plate. when the plate is empty the snack is over!
Carrot sticks with hummus take awhile to eat & are very satisfying. ymmm
A small handful of nuts. Again, stop after the one handful.
Pretzel sticks. Count them out & have a small dish of mustard to dip them in.
An orange will often cure my cravings for fatty snack foods. Not sure why.
A piece of toast with one tbl of peanut butter is very satisfying.
A cup of cucumber slices only has about 15 calories! That is a lot of cucumber slices. You can have a little low fat ranch with it.
Have another glass of water.
