I am excited to be kicking off a new year with new goals. I establish goals for the year, and then to break them into smaller, more manageable goals, I set smaller goals for focus on for each month. I have found that this really works to help me stay focused and to be present each month as I work on my goals. Posting my monthly goals for my Spark friends also helps me stay accountable. Here are my goals for January:

Complete weeks 5-7 of Couch 2 5K on my treadmill. I finished weeks 1-4 in December, as I work towards my 2012 goal of being able to run for 3 miles without walking. I figure as the training weeks get harder, this goal will allow for a do-over week if I need it. I will complete this training 3 days per week for the month of January.

Complete all of the January Jumpstart workouts for the Spark Challenge Team I joined. These will be done in addition to my normal workouts, and I would like to try to double up on these workouts daily (they are short, under 10 min each).

Complete Jillian's Ripped in 30 workout program. I will be doing this 4 days per weeks (my off days from C25K). There are 4 different weeks worth of workouts in this plan, so I will complete one per week on the calendar.

Loose 5 pounds- Go from 146.5 to 141.5. Have been on a plateau for 8 weeks (good thing is only 1 pound gain from Thanksgiving through Christmas!) but need to start the scale moving in the right direction. I am hoping the additional workouts from the January Jumpstart workout challenge and the new Jillian workout will be just the push I need.

Loose 5 total inches from body measurements.
What are some of your goals for January? Let's make this first month of 2012 great!
