Why can't Christmas celebrations be in April?
Thursday, December 29, 2011
In Canada, the weather at this time of year is always "iffy". It would be ever so much more convenient if the celebrations could be in April which is when many scholars believe is the actual birth month of Christ.
People wanting to travel to be with friends and family are at the mercy of the weather.... People with certain jobs are at the beck and call of snow and it's required removal from sidewalks and roadways.......
I hate bundling up to wait in freezing rain, blustering winds or howling blizzards for buses to get to the malls or other shopping centres.
The only people who benefit are the stores who do a major portion of their retail business at this time of year.....
Then there is the post Christmas depressions of bills for people who overspent, or the dreary winter weather to look "forward" to.
Just think, with the celebrations in April, we would have the long winter evenings to hand make our gifts, and the anticipation to help us get through that winter.
Yeah, this might be an unpopular idea with the masses, but --- "I thinks what I thinks" lol
