Christmas and other things...

Wednesday, December 28, 2011

Christmas was nice, quiet and a good meal was ahd by our families. It was 6 of us. Robert and his son and daughter and me and my daughter, Ashley. He made a Healthy lasagna using whole wheat pasta. the filling and topping was a mixture of mozerella cheese, cottage cheese, eggs and pepper he made his own sauce which was filled with garlic. I made a salad and there was garlic bread. Everyone enjoyed it. Oh and his 84 yr old mother was with us. She lives in assisted living apartments in Hillsboro, Oreon.

My meds strength are wearing off and my eyelids and closing again. I see my neurologist on tuesday next week and will be discussing this. Also that spot they found on my lung my regular dr. is going a step further and rather than wait 6 months she ahs ordered more ct scans. We are worried because of the number of x rays and ct scans I've been having. Radiation is not safe. Other than arthritis neck pain and my eyes not wanting to open i feel alright but mentally i'm in shock from the two revellations that are finally hiting me. It's not easy not seeing but my beloved yellow lab leone is helping me around.

I am looking to my god more for guidance here and praising him daily.

If i get quiet please understand. I am not posting as much on my teams not because i don't want to but because my eyes don't want me to. It's ahrd to type and literally hold my eyelids open.

blessings to you all and Happy New year!

DEBS, many years ago I was a Radiographer. We walked around with Xray Docimeters pinned to our uniforms so they could test for how much radiation was affecting our bodies. We wore lead aprons if we had to hold a patient and that often happened in those days. If we ever had more than a minimal exposure we would be off Xray for 6 weeks paid time. No-one ever had the 6 weeks off while I was there.
I know its not good for you but these investigations are not invasive and they can give practitioners fast and valuable information. Talk to the technicians and tell them you want as much protection as possible. Techs tend to only protect if you request it or if women are pregnant. My dentist has a special apron that protects up to the thyroid in the neck, they can do a lot of protection but sometimes they easily discount us older folks. Just speak up about it, explain your concerns. HUGS Pat in Maine. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Maybe you should invest into a computer program called Dragon voice recognition as it will type exactally what you say word for word and this might help.

Here is a link to their website.
