Hi!

Happy Day in Monterey!

Thanks for your kind words and goodies and Spark love throughout the year. Hope that you are enjoying this holiday season. I apologize that have been AWOL and missed you and all my Sparkfriends terribly.

2011 brought a ton of stuff that happened including the following in no particular order :
Hurricane Irene hit my mother’s home and I needed to help her deal with that. Lots of dealing with contractors, insurance companies, etc.
On Labor day I was riding along until I wasn’t. After sliding about 15 feet, I ended my ride by slamming into a retaining wall. Thank goodness for my trusty Bell helmet, no head injury although I hit pretty hard. I was determined to be out of bandages in 8 weeks which I was. But it pretty much ended my season. I am finally back on my bike and looking forward next year when I am back in shape and the scars are finally gone.
New management and LOTs of crazy changes at work = LOADs of stress and NO time.

2011 has been insane.

But I do not believe in whining. I am looking forward to getting back on the Spark boards and catching up with you soon.

Thanks for all your help, support and Sparklove.

Wishing you Happy Holidays and the Best New Year Ever.

I am so sorry to hear about your accident. Thank goodness that you were already exercising because it made your recovery that much easier.

    Happy New Year!

Oh geez, injuries are the WORST, aren't they???

I tore my rotator cuff snowboarding in late March and because of surgery and rehab couldn't white water kayak again until October!

Now I'm back in a boat in my drysuit and looking forward to a trip to Costa Rica paddling rivers down there next month.

Glad you're back on your bike too!

I'm glad to hear that you are OK now. Major bike injuries are so frightening, as well as the long slow heal to deal with afterwards.
Sorry to hear that your Mom had to deal with hurricane Irene. It did such a tremendous amount of damage. Many of the areas in Vermont where we did our bike tour last summer were washed out and under water. The whole thing was just so sad what with all the damage and historical monuments and landmarks.
Nice to "see" you back on Spark, although I think if I made my goal weight, I would have a tendency to spend a whole lot less time here.
Have a Happy New Year and be safe!
