Well, today is day 57 of my juice fast, modified for the last week to include a portion of protein per day. Slow weight loss continues; I sprained my ankle at the end of last week, and that messed up my plan to up the exercise to push my metabolism-- 2 more weeks off it, then I can get to real work.
I am traveling for the holidays, & when I thought about my family visit (at my sister's), I realized I can't juice there-- she's much too high-strung, and doesn't need someone in her kitchen doing their own thing while she's hosting. So I will break the fast for 7-10 days starting Friday afternoon, and try to keep it to mainly raw vegetables and lean protein, doing my best to avoid grains and the xmas goodies. Maybe it's a good thing to change things up for my body-- I plan to go back to juicing after the holiday, and it would be absolutely great to see the same kind of weight loss I had the first month. If it works, I'll do 30 days on, 2 weeks off, 30 days on again.
Plus I'm going to start up the exercise more regularly as soon as the ankle heals. I'm training for a 5K in April with a friend, and for an Appalachian trail 2-3 day trip in August (gotta get those climbing muscles working after years in the flatland).
