I didn't realise how long it had been since I last posted a blog....
So we’ve had our bonus. Now to rethink my plans for next year. There’s absolutely no way that I can afford to do the hypnotherapy course that I’d planned. So what to do now?
Mick’s managed to pick me up a cheap book and cd / dvd, but it doesn’t come with any kind of qualification. I’ll still have to try and sort out a certified course. There are cheaper courses available, but, looking at the content they aren’t as good, and there are no practical workshops included. It’s also not quite what I want to study. The one that I’m really interested in is Hypnoanalysis. It differs from hypnotherapy, this is the definition of it: "a therapeutic technique in which a client is relaxed into hypnosis, and using free-association, sets out to release and resolve bottled-up emotions, conflicts and anxieties "
The practitioner is merely a guide, helping the client to resolve their own inner conflicts. The course also teaches clinical hypnotherapy. Quote from the course literature: Pure Hypnoanalysis simply creates a safe, trusting and confidential environment where the natural therapeutic process can work, ALLOWING the client to slowly bring all the bottled up emotions to the surface. It doesn’t rely on ‘therapist insight’, ‘fishing techniques’, regression techniques or any other ‘invasive’ techniques in order to work effectively. Create the right relationship, show the client how to utilise the natural therapeutic process, and in six or seven sessions the bottled-up emotions can be resolved.
For now I’m going to work through the stuff that Mick’s got me and see how I cope with it, then try and see if we can afford for me to do the ‘proper’ course later in the year. It’ll put back my plans for a few months probably, but that’ll give us both more time to get the room ready. It also means that we can maybe concentrate on getting Mick up and running with whatever he plans to do. Which he doesn’t know what that is to be at the moment, so the first step there will be working out what to do.
On other matters, my knee appears to be finally improving, no thanks to the consultant who was little more than useless. My sinusitis isn’t, the CT scan was completely normal. It’s actually a form of migraine. I’ve got Migraleve both at home and work as I’ve been told that, the earlier I can take medication, the more likely it is that it will work. I’ve had a cold for the last few days, I seem to be getting over it OK this time though. I’ve also got myself some Feroglobin B12 to see if that makes a difference to my energy levels. On the packaging it says ‘Delicious taste’, THEY LIE! It tastes vile! Still it’s liquid form, so a drink takes the taste away quite quickly.
We took Elissa to see Santa on Sunday. When he asked her what she wanted she said ‘Chuggington playset’. Well, that was news to Stacey! For the last few weeks she’s said that she wants a hamster! Oops. I found it pretty amusing though. At least they’ve not bought the hamster yet.
