Paradise and Narada Falls

Saturday, December 17, 2011

It was an absolutely beautiful day at Mount Rainier! We headed up to Paradise. With snowshoes attached to our backpacks we headed UP the trail. When it became less beaten in I put my snowshoes on. In some areas were hundreds of natural snowballs that had rolled downhill.
The views of Mount Rainier and the surround peaks were just amazing. Just being there in the sun and 50 degree warmth was special. As we headed down the road, not really wanting to leave, we stopped and did the short trail to Narada Falls. So fun that I feel guilty logging it as exercise=)

Such wonderful exercise! I miss that kind of exercise and hope some day I will be strong enough heart wise to do it.

Great blog! My sister and I stayed up at the Paradise Inn in Sept. So beautiful up there! We did lots of hiking. Fun to see your photos of what it looks like with snow.
I'm wondering if the visitors center is open during the winter...?

Wow, stunning place to hike/snowshoe! But who says fitness can't be fun?? That's what I like about hiking - it's not only physically beneficial but also works on the emotional, mental, spiritual and social aspects of life!
Thanks so much for sharing your hikes with us!!

Wowza! What grand beauty! Those natural snowballs are cool! You all look so tiny next to those mountain backdrops! Glad you had a nice time! emoticon emoticon emoticon
