Why is it, that you go for years without any dental problems and then within 6 months 3 fillings fall out? Do they only have a certain life span or something? Or is it one of life's tricks, when everything else seem to be going well, something has to go wrong in other parts of your life? Who knows??

Yes, fillings do have a lifespan.

I found that out at 50 and also started having to have them replaced after they fell out. Along with that, I have had a root canal (I'm waiting for the second one until my insurance will pay and just dealing with the pain) and also have about 3-4 crowns now. Can you say expensive teeth? My teeth have cost me more than my last car!

Ok granted the car was used, but still.

I don't know either. I assume fairly even wear so it does make sense that way.
