Cardio Streak Day 230

0500 hrs – Two Mile Jog

Yes, you read that correctly, it's 62F outside this morning! I wanted to get started early because we're supposed to have severe T-Storms this afternoon with large hail.

62F today, in the 40s last week... this is Texas.

I've got a two mile jog scheduled for today, the non-stop variety. I'm getting to like these! I started out the door before 0500 and walked into blowing mist. It wasn't enough water to be called drizzle and not heavy enough to be called fog, but whatever the name it was being pushed around by gusty winds.

I had one of those moments, just for 0.62 seconds (an eternity for an android) where I thought about NOT doing the workout this morning. Things like not wanting to get the SmartPhone wet and all that kind of stuff. But I quickly discounted the negativity and plunged into the darkness.

I did a five minute walk then went right into the jog without thinking about it or having a debate in my mind.

Twenty five minutes later I had covered 1.97 miles and that's enough for today. My graph points have gone a little higher of the last two days but that's to be expected. It's really all about the trend line and which way it's going, and it's going downward on the per-mile time.

For now, I'm going to finish drinking another bottle of no-name water and see if I can upload a couple of pictures to my page.

Today was:
2.87 miles
40 minutes
314 calories burned

emoticon Just starting the run can be the hardest part; then sometimes you see that the wretched walking weather is pretty good running weather. Blowing mist sounds like much better running weather than large hail!

I loved the way you described the weather! : )
You have an extensive vocabulary (compared to me for sure) and a good sense of humor.
We had something quite similar weather here this morning, except the gusty winds.
    Congrats to your progress!
