It's a Wonderful Run 5K

I got stuck this week.

I had gained 3 pounds in the last 7 weeks, when my running went down from 20-mile weeks to 6-mile weeks, and I didn't change my eating for that! I was exhausted from work stress and not taking the time to a) work out more consistently and b) plan meals. So I churned along in the mud for a bit, not realizing it, until I got, well, stuck. This week I realized I couldn't get UNstuck without PUTTING THE VEHICLE BACK INTO GEAR, lol!!

So today I'm joining 1800 of my best strangers in the It's a Wonderful Run 5K. I signed up for it 2 months ago, to keep me running and have some holiday fun. And even though I've only run 1-2x/week lately, I'm still going, still having fun, and using it like chains to pull myself out of the mud!

    I love the way you are looking at it - being stuck and needing something to pull yourself out. I love the way you didn't throw in the towel! Good for you! That 5k and all the endorphins will definitely rev you up!

    Hey Karen, I'm not sure how I got disconnected from you. I'm remedying that now!

Like you, I got a bit stuck this week, & for similar reasons. How great that you have just had a 5K to unstick you, & with such a promising name/image. emoticon Hope you had lots of fun!

I was starting to feel a twinge of envy, & then I remembered: silly me, I'm doing a 5K tomorrow myself! I'm going to walk to the adjoining town, where I need to return a library book. It's a 3.25-mile walk--actually a bit over 5K. I won't be running, but I'm definitely going to walk briskly & work up a good sweat. We'll see whether I turn around & walk home too, or take the L (elevated train).

Here's to a week of being stuck only to health & love & other good things!
