I had my second appointment today and I got the results from my blood work for Down syndrome. The results were normal which is good news, but I had to also test for spina bifida and trisomy18 today so they took 8 vials of blood (yuck). I had to also provide a urine sample to check my protein and sugar levels. I guess it’s normal.
The bad news is I gained 11 pounds since my last appointment. I’m not happy with that but I guess since I didn’t gain much in my last trimester, it’s not extremely horrible. However, I intend to pay closer attention to my meals now and try to stay somewhat on a plan and not stir too far off. I have done well to not over eat or indulge in junk but I guess I’m not doing that great of a job. I eat as much fresh fruit and vegetables as I can’t when I can. I might need to scale back on the carbs.
Meals for today:
Breakfast: Orange juice, 2 eggs, 1 slice turkey bacon
MMSnack: Similac Mom milk- Vanilla
Lunch: not sure
MDSnack: nothing
Snack: nothing
Vitamins: Garden of life raw code prenatal, Omega 3, folic acid (need to purchase some more prenatal vitamins)
Dinner: Pizza.
Pregnancy update stuff
Size of baby: according to The Bump the little one is the size of an Avocado about 4.6 inches long and weighs about 3.5 ounces.
Total Weight Gained in second trimester: I’m embarrassed to admit, but I gained 11 pounds!!!
Cravings: No Cravings
Aversions: Chicken, Rice and I think I’m starting to turn away from eggs and turkey bacon as well.
Symptoms: The Fatigue from the last trimester has eased up a bit and I do have some more energy now, not a lot but I’m doing better. I have felt some slight aches but it could be due to growth.
Fitness Level: Low-Med - i walked to my doc appt today from work and back. I've been walking most days at least 20mins.
