Last week I saw the scale drop again, which was awesome! It showed that my dedication to eating salads and lean protein at lunch while staying within my calorie range and working out 6 days per week was really helping.
Now, this week is a different story. I worked out Sunday and Monday, but Tuesday I started feeling sick. Stomach flu. Why does an obstacle always seem to come up when you're on a good path?! It's so frustrating. I can barely eat half of my meals/snacks without feeling extremely nauseous. I slept a lot and think that helped a bit because I don't feel so weak and tired anymore. I'm going to try to work out tonight, at least walk on the treadmill or something. We'll see.
Yesterday was my day off but instead of resting I had a bunch of errands lined up for the day. I had an endocrinologist appointment which went well; my doctor was happy with my a1C (6.9 - it's been that for 9 months now and won't budge!). After that I took my daughter to her ENT appointment (she had tubes in her ears) and that went well too. She had her Irish dance class afterward - first class of the Winter 2011 season. We went home after that and I made dinner, then I had my FIRST Irish dance class :) . I was nervous about going to the adult class because I thought I would be the only one there who didn't have any Irish dance experience. Luckily there was one other girl there with no experience. We learned a lot and it was a GREAT workout! We were sweating before the warmup was even done! I'm excited to get better and better and learn new things, and to practice with my daughter. This will be fun!
Hopefully this stomach bug is gone tomorrow. Friday we're going out to dinner downtown and it is going to be very difficult to stay within my calorie range ... and it will be impossible to work out that day. Everything in moderation, right?
