CtC: T-minus 163 (potluck at work challenge!)

Thursday, December 08, 2011

As my title says... we're having a potluck holiday party at work today. I brought my salad as per usual, but I didn't put any chicken or turkey on it.. we're having that as one of the dishes here, so I figure this is one way I can partake SOME of the party goodies and still stick to my plan.

Exercise-wise, today is supposed to be a running day. ;) Yesterday was not and I ran... gosh, maybe that does mean I'm addicted! (LOL) It sure did feel good to step off that dreadmill yesterday, sweat dripping off my hair on the back of my neck. I felt so good and ALIVE. The plan calls for 3 miles at a moderate pace. I may see about getting some music, because the treadmill is so much better with it...

I guess if I had been *REALLY* good I would have made a big salad to share with everyone... this was just for me personally.. lol.. I made caramel corn for the party itself. And the great thing was I didn't feel deprived even though I "only" ate a salad -- the fruit was a yummy enough dessert by itself... love love LOVE pineapple! mmmmmm

Your salad sounds wonderful. It's funny how the holidays and potlucks seem to equate to FATTENING FOOD. On Monday at my Girl Scout Leader's meeting it was a dessert potluck - I brought fresh fruit - and you would have thought I was evil. So many people commented on how that wasn't a real dessert... ughhh...

Stay true to your plan! You are doing so well!

We have a work potluck coming up on the 20th, and I plan on bringing something healthy and tasty to contribute. Your salad is a great idea - good job!

Lots of food temptations this time of year. Good idea to bring something you know you can eat and stay on track. Enjoy...
