A peek inside my thankful box - thankful for my mom

My thankful box is a little box I put thankful notes in to read on Thanksgiving, well this year I decided to do it for Christmas Eve.
Today I am thankful that I got to spend the day with my mom. We went o my daughter's - a 70 mile drive - for a 30 minute visit... I needed to drop some things off for her and the last time I visited I forgot the ornaments she made for grandma, so mom's Christmas tree was bare, except for lights until today. I took mom Christmas shopping for six of my grandchildren. We got it all done. We went out to lunch.. a very quick one. Not my choice, but time was short. While mom and I do not always get along and sometimes I think she is "not so nice" to dad, she is the only mother I have. For that she gets my respect, just because of WHO she is. My mother.
I am almost 50 years old and I still have my 75 year old mom on this earth. I feel so blessed to be able to spend time with her. When my children were all home I made sure they saw my parents and my parents-in-law once a week. I made sure we had family time with my siblings (in-laws, too) and their children. I am just so thankful for the time I have with my family.
Today I am even more thankful for my mother.
