Day 2 Arrived in Greensboro
Friday, March 09, 2007
Well I made it to Greensboro, NC today. It was a little nip in the air but all in all it was a nice brisk walk. My daughter joined me today for a mile of the walk. It was nice to have her there for company. Unfortunately, her allergies took the best of her and she had to turn back.
Once there I stopped in the see the new stadium, home of the Greensboro Grasshoppers and then off to Guildford Battleground. Checked out the new improvements in downtown Greensboro. Lookin Good!
Took a walk through the beautiful Bog Gardens. It showcases the natural vegetation that is indigenous to the area. Visitors can stroll a raised half-mile boardwalk to view wildflowers, shrubs, bamboo and ferns that add to the swampy landscape of the region. An added bonus is the wildlife that visitors may glimpse in this natural habitat. And then....Castle McCulloch.
Need I say more?
Headed to Winston-Salem next. Can't wait to see what sites they have to offer!
