I try to enjoy the season as much as I can - I hope I can inspire someone who may be having a hard time with the holiday season to find some joy in the little things - they can all add to equal a big thing - JOY.
Putting up my tree - I like to let it set for a day or two - just to enjoy the lights.
I love to watch the snow fall - it is peaceful and beautiful - (yes, until we have to drive in it).
I listen to Christmas music everyday - in the car, while I decorate, while on the computer and most important it is on my mp3 player for when I work out. I listen to it while I clean, bake, cook dinner or just relaxing. I listen to christian Christmas, country Christmas, Elvis and even the chipmonks.... so find something you like - it will lift your spirits.
Do a little baking - if time is short, visit a bakery and have a little treat that is only offered this time of year. In my house that tends to mean Cream Cheese cookies...hmmm hmm good!
Hang some holly or garland - it always looks pretty and if you get fresh cut garland - it smells heavenly.
Decorate your house throughout - it does not have to be elaborate - just a touch here and there in every room. A wreath, a candle, a string of lights or pointsetta just lifts the mood.
Get some candy canes to share with a clerk, your mail person, or someone you know. I like to buy the little ones to keep in my pocket to give out - it puts a smile on someones face and spreads a little JOY. I like to chew on them, too.
Have a little holiday JOY each day.
Jesus is the reason for the Season.
