This is certianly a busy time of year, isn't it!
That's why I call it the "holidaze". We all have so much decorating, baking, cooking, cleaning, schedules to keep, gifts to get all in order and wrapped....you know the drill.
I will have you all know that I am FINISHED with my Christmas shopping, and have sent all the packages out. I'm glad to strike THAT off my list!
But I still have a long list of Ally Cat Quilts by Krackers requests to fill, which I would very much like to complete by Christmas. I know the kids would love to have a nice cuddly quilt for Christmas, and between me and God, we are trying our best to do it.
Honestly, at my age, I can't for the life of me figure out why I do so much decorating!! I mean, once we become Senior Citizens, don't we get a decorating pass?
Mine has not arrived.
Therefore, I drag out all the boxes of too many decorations, get the step stool and ladder, wash the windows, put up a tree, get the Christmas towels in the bathrooms, hang wreaths, Cinnamon spray pinecones for the basket, fill stockings and all that other STUFF!
Once it all gets up, I love it. I turn on Christmas music, light candles and really enjoy life to the fullest with the beauty of the Season.
It's funny, though. I spend weeks getting everything done, and then on the day after New Year's, (typically January 2) can't wait to get them down and return my home to "normal".
"Normal" to me means cobwebs become Dream Catchers, dust becomes slates for guests to leave their messages, dirty floors are proof that I get outside. Piles of ironing prove I have an abundance of clothes for which I should be grateful.
But for now, I am much much too busy to sit and eat cookies!!
