Consistency: steadfast adherence to the same principles, course, form, etc.
I think this word sums up my biggest weakness. I am not consistent with anything. Whether it be diet, fitness, housework etc. In one of my required classes I'm taking we did a personality test and one of this things my personality style said about me is that I set high and unrealistic goals for myself. Wow! I don't think that I could have described it better myself.
I'm trying to really re-evaluate my goals. I need to learn to set realistic and OBTAINABLE goals for myself. For example:
Previous Goal- Lose 50 lbs in 6 months.
This goal is so vague and seems impossible for me to wrap my mind around. Yes I do want to lose 50 pounds, but that it my long term goal. I need a short term goal that I can wrap my head around.
Current Goal- Write down everything I eat this week so that I can really see where my calories are coming from.
Another realistic goal to help me reach my ultimate goal is to to strength training 3x a week (Mon/Wed/Fri) and Couch to 5k Program 3x a week (Tues/Thurs/Sat) for a total of 5 miles a week and 195 minutes a week.
I'm also going to update this blog once a week with the results of my previous weeks goals and to put the next weeks goals down where I can be accountable for them.
