“To love life, to love it even
when you have no stomach for it
and everything you've held dear
crumbles like burnt paper in your hands,
your throat filled with the silt of it.
When grief sits with you, its tropical heat
thickening the air, heavy as water
more fit for gills than lungs;
when grief weights you like your own flesh
only more of it, an obesity of grief,
you think, How can a body withstand this?
Then you hold life like a face
between your palms, a plain face,
no charming smile, no violet eyes,
and you say, yes, I will take you
I will love you, again.”

Facing My Fears:
Today I am loving what is. I am loving what I have in my life right now. The grief, the fear, the solitude, the small comforts. All of it.

My Gratitudes:
-writing in my journal
-the wise words of my kind teachers
-the people who love me

My Daily Goals:
-Perform as many daily tasks as I can do in mindful manner
-Take care of my body
-Observe my thoughts
-Choose positivity and, always, love

Acceptance is another step in the grieving process. You grieve for what you have lost and gain insight into what will make you happy in the future. Take care and heal. HUGS!

Beautiful poem, and beautiful blog. Love your gratitudes, and your daily goals, especially doing more daily tasks mindfully. It's something I've been working on for a while, but have recently refocused my efforts.
