An Anniversary

Saturday, November 26, 2011

The day after Thanksgiving, when I was 15, I had an operation on my right knee. It was to correct a problem I had from dislocation of my knee cap. It left a 12 inch scar and required a couple months healing before I could walk without a cast and crutches.

Little did I know that 33 years later I would have completed 2 10ks and a couple 5ks. And while I may be at the back, that's ok. I'm doing things I never thought possible. Perhaps my world was too small then.

I hope you can find some joy in an anniversary such as this - it might not be surgery, but it could be just as profound in your memory.

Keep going...

Congratulations on your 10 K and 5 Ks. It's amazing the things we can do as we get older that we couldn't (wouldn't) do when we were younger. Have a great day!
