I was just about to add another blog entry when I saw responses to my 2 previous blogs. I can't believe others are reading my entries! What a pleasant surprise. With all the fabulous stories out there, I figured this would just be my simple, personal journal.
It is inspirational to hear from others - so THANK YOU!
And on this day of giving thanks, I have to say that even though I miss the States (I live in Denmark), it was nice not having to think about the traditional Thanksgiving feast. My husband, son and I had one of our normal dinners. I enjoyed a glass of wine with dinner and banana bread for dessert to mark the day. That was my splurge. Although I went over my recommended daily caloric allowance, I know it could have been MUCH worse on this day of feasting.
Tradition, the media and advertisers push all the trappings of the Thanksgiving Day meal.... and later Black Friday. It really is pressure, and in a way, it takes away the real meaning for Thanksgiving.
So instead of worrying about food today (which I normally do), I was thankful for my family and the fun we had away from the dinner table.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
