A quick look back and clean eating update

One year ago today I was 200 pounds. Today I weighed in at 170.3! 30 pounds in one year! I can break out jeans I wore in college! Still a bit to go before my goal, but I'm sooo much closer!

Quick update on the clean eating:
I'm still in the process of weeding out the processed foods and replacing with clean food. I've made my own bread for 2 weeks now. Its more dense and doesn't get as fluffy as store bought sandwich bread, but I've found a book of clean eating breads that I may treat myself to for Christmas and experiment with other recipes. I've found that some of my favorite snacks are actually pretty clean! Even my husband's beloved lean pockets have real ingredients until you get to the last 4 or 5 which are the preservatives. I did splurge at McDonalds a few times this week while out on the run with kiddo who is on a "i'll only eat chikkies and french fries" kick this week. Most of the time its just easier to let her go through the phase, make herself sick of eating the same thing all the time, and move on rather than trying to force a 3yr old to eat what you want her to eat.

Tonight I'll be busy making things for tomorrows holiday, but I have a chicken and dumplings recipe from thegraciouspantry.com to try tonight! one cup is only 150 calories!!
