100 Day Challenge

Shortly after I joined Spark People in July, I joined the 100 Day Challenge Team. I joined this team to make myself accountable and to make exercise a priority. I challenged myself to do at least 30 minutes of exercise every day for 100 days. In the beginning I had to start over a couple of times but once I made it to 30 days, it had become a daily habit. Some days were hard workouts, an 8 or 10 mile run or a hard cardio workout at the gym. Other days were only a brisk 30 minute walk with the dogs. I continued my streak through endless 100 degree summer days and cold autumn mornings. When school started in August, I woke up each morning at 4:30 to get my run/walk in before work. Most days I did an evening walk too. The point is, I moved my a$$ everyday in some form of meaningful exercise and I met my goal a couple of days ago. I did 100 days of exercise!! emoticon emoticon What I learned from this challenge is that I am ready to continue the streak. Exercise is now a priority and I want to do something everyday. TV and sitting around is not important any more. Feeling good about myself is more important. I feel better when I move and exercise is an important piece of the weight loss journey. I am on track to reach my goal weight in March 2012. Let's keep moving! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

    Wow it sounds so hard and not impossible by close...and then there you are with it completed and a life style change! Thank you for sharing that you restarted a few times. I do use the kids, husband and school work as an excuse sometimes. I am at 5 days a week but you have given me the push and inspiration I needed to move on! Thanks.
