TOM, is it why I'm H & H?

Wednesday, November 16, 2011

So, my TOM runs in a 3 month period. This is the first time since I started working out and have changed my diet. I have been so freaking hungry and horny. Is this normal? emoticon

Ladies, can I get some info?

My foot being all bruised isn't helping my frustration because I can't jog or do my warm yoga. I have been riding the stationary bike and I've already doubled my cardio time for the week & it's only Wednesday!!!!!

I know this may be TMI for some, but I am really at a loss here. I am eating all good stuff though, it's the other H that isn't making sense to me. Are my levels changing?

Before anyone asks, I am single. Ha! I feel like I'm going crazy. I've always been a little crazy but not like this. I don't even know what kind of answers I'm looking for, just something to let me know it's not just me.

In general, I'd say you're normal. But, it wouldn't hurt to talk to your doctor, just to be safe.

When a woman loses body fat, that does change their body's biochemistry. Body fat is linked to our hormones and our hormones are linked to our menstrual cycle. So, when a woman loses weight, yes, that can effect their menstrual periods. which would explain some of the weirdness you've been experiencing. your body should stabilize once it adapts to your new changes.

Also, cravings during TOM aren't unusual. Women do burn more calories during their menstrual cycle. How many ? That can vary from woman to woman. So, if you've decreased the amount of calories you eat because you want to lose weight and you combined that with your body's extra need for calories during your period, that would explain the extra cravings.

Don't deny your body the food it needs to be healthy. If you're hungry, it is okay to eat. You have to learn to listen to your body's signals.

Your metabolism shoots way up in those days right before and at the beginning of TOM, which is why you're hungry. Eat a bit more those days, and in a few days, you'll have a couple of not-so-hungry days to balance them out. Can't help with the othe rpart though, haha! :D
