November can be a dreary month here in New England. The leaves have fallen from the trees and the days are usually cold, cloudy and grey. I happen to love November since Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday.
I make a point to get outside for at least a little bit every day. The fresh air can do wonders for my psyche.
Yesterday, we went for cross-country hike at the State Park where we kayak all summer. I was happy to report that my hips and my feet didn't hurt at all.
Afterwards, we made an excursion to a new Dairy Queen. Our favorite one is closed for the season. I love Blizzards! Okay, so these aren't the healthiest of foods, but I'm a firm believer in moderation.
We had a delightful drive through the country side to reach this new Dairy Queen. I had never been in this part of Massachusetts before. The towns were so pretty, they were typical New England towns. There were some lovely Victorian homes along main street, along with the requisite white clapboard church.
I slept quite well last night, with all the fresh air and the beautiful scenery.
I love exploring new areas, especially those so close to home and so easy to get to.
